Weare Animal Hospital

Exotics and Bird Specialty Care

Exotic pets (birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, hamsters, ferrets, rats, mice, sugar gliders, and chinchillas) have unique needs and our staff is experienced and equipped to handle them.

Founded in 2000, the Exotic and Bird Clinic of New England is a vital resource for both pet owners and referring veterinarians, and is located at both Weare Animal Hospital and our sister facility, Hopkinton Animal Hospital.

To further increase the experience of the staff with exotic pets, the Hospital volunteers their time and resources to the NH Audubon and local registered wildlife rehabilitators. New Hampshire Fish and Game Department frequently relies on the team to aid an injured wild animal.

Dr. Dominique Peel recently became an American Board of Veterinary Practictioners (ABVP) Exotic Companion Mammal Resident, on the path to become Board Certified in two years. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, AL in 2017, when she joined the Weare Animal Hospital team. She had previously interned with us during veterinary school and fell in love with the staff, clients, pets and the high standard of veterinary medicine practiced.
